A multidisciplinary public practice.

Oyinkansola Onwuchekwa blends music, poetry, artificial intelligence research, public speaking, and community work. Her creative practice is rooted in soul, R&B, Afrobeats, spoken word, and honest storytelling, while her research focuses on multilingual NLP, emotion AI, low-resource languages, and responsible technology.

She is a PhD Researcher in Data Science and AI at the University of Hull and an AI Research Engineer at SAGE-AI. Her work often returns to the same questions: how do people feel, remember, belong, and make meaning across language, sound, culture, and technology?

Music and creativity

KKC writes, performs, and co-produces music across soul, R&B, pop, Afrobeats, spoken word, and experimental sound. Her songs often explore love, healing, identity, faith, growth, and emotional truth.

AI and scholarship

Her research investigates emotion in music and text across cultures using deep learning and NLP, with a strong interest in African languages, cultural heritage, fairness, and human-centred AI.

Community and care

She founded Keenah-Kay Chekwas and The Community Initiative in 2017, a registered NGO in Nigeria supporting education, health awareness, welfare outreach, and community empowerment.

Fitness and discipline

Through Beaded Gym Rat, she shares fitness, strength, consistency, and wellness as part of a broader practice of discipline, self-care, and embodied confidence.
